Strengthening Workforce Development In Healthcare
The New Jewish Home, New York City
The New Jewish Home, one of NYC’s oldest long-term care employers, developed its in-house workforce development program, SkillSpring, to prepare young adults for healthcare careers in geriatric-care facilities. As the program prepared for expansion with new funding, leadership recognized the need to codify its model to ensure sustainability and mitigate service delivery risks. To support this effort, they partnered with WPTI to strengthen and formalize their workforce development programming.
Over the course of a year, WPTI provided training, coaching, and technical assistance to enhance SkillSpring’s impact and scalability.
For example:
Since partnering with WPTI, The New Jewish Home has secured over $4 million in funding to expand the SkillSpring program.
Program team members have enhanced their skills in facilitation and career coaching, while the leadership team has begun implementing new strategies to build a data-driven culture, including launching a new database and training staff on its effective use to improve daily practices and for organizational reporting and fundraising.
“Our coaching session was incredibly encouraging, enlightening, and reflective. I’m looking forward to putting what we discussed into action.”
