Engaging Young People in Workforce Development
St. Nicks Alliance
Brooklyn, New York
St. Nicks Alliance, a multi-service organization that provides more than 16,000 low- and moderate-income people with employment, education, housing, and health care services, sought fresh strategies for addressing the various needs of the young adults in its in-school youth programs.
Over four months, WPTI facilitated a series of sessions to enhance program design and service delivery. WPTI:
Following the engagement, St. Nicks Alliance mapped out a 12-month implementation plan that reflected a series of WPTI recommendations for building a more responsive, participant-centered workforce program. Initial steps included developing a student advisory board, creating a monthly newsletter aimed at students as well as school and organization leadership, and holding regular meetings for program and school staff in order to improve alignment.
St. Nicks Alliance plans to leverage Spring and Summer 2025 to further refine priorities for the upcoming school year, incorporating additional WPTI recommendations that will have a lasting impact on the young adults they serve.
“It was a great opportunity to partner with the [WPTI] around customer journey mapping and staff alignment. The workshops allowed my team and me to properly analyze our programs from the lens of a client and to improve our strategies in order to ensure our participants receive the best experience. We were able to create concrete action plans to address current program issues around recruitment and retention.”
